That's a little introduction of myself. Not long at all, just to let you know a little more about me.

weekend post-popular culture-Computer vs. TV
computer is being so popular in today's society. but how about tv? does tv still being popular like it does before computer boombed?
i still remembered that when i was small i watch tv almost everyday. i acted liek i need tv to survive. but as i grew up, technology is going to another level, and so for computer. i started to play computer games, and go on the internet, and also learn what can i do on the internet. now i am going crazy on forums and facebook, which i gotta go on those everyday. what i observed is computer is like it's going to replace tv, because ppl can watch tv on computer now, but the tv cannot be a computer.

Weekend Post-Popular culture
Rock music is one of the most popular music now. It was a new trendy culture, no matter in America, England, Asia...around the world.
Rock music is a genre of popular music that entered the mainstream in the 1950s. It has its roots in 1940s and 1950s rock and roll, rhythm and blues, country music and also drew on folk music, jazz and classical music. The sound of rock often revolves around the electric guitar, a back beat laid down by a rhythm section of electric bass guitar, drums, and keyboard instruments such as Hammond organ, piano, or, since the 1970s, synthesizers. Along with the guitar or keyboards, saxophone and blues-style harmonica are sometimes used as soloing instruments. In its "purest form", it "has three chords, a strong, insistent back beat, and a catchy melody.

historical podcast
For eight years dust blew on the southern plains. It came in a yellowish-brown haze from the South and in rolling walls of black from the North. The simplest acts of life — breathing, eating a meal, taking a walk — were no longer simple. Children wore dust masks to and from school, women hung wet sheets over windows in a futile attempt to stop the dirt, farmers watched helplessly as their crops blew away.
The Dust Bowl of the 1930s lasted about a decade. Its primary area of impact was on the southern Plains. The northern Plains were not so badly effected, but nonetheless, the drought, windblown dust and agricultural decline were no strangers to the north. In fact the agricultural devastation helped to lengthen the Depression whose effects were felt worldwide.

A Special Valentine
It's fun to let people know you care about them by making them valentines for Valentine's Day. Follow these instructions to make your own weird valentine:- To make the valentine, you will need pieces of white paper and pieces of black paper. You will also need scissors, some them, and a marker or a(n) me.
- Cut the white paper into the shape of a(n) you.
- Cut a smaller you shape from the black paper.
- Glue the black paper you onto the center of the white paper you.
- Use the marker or the me to write a Valentine's Day message to the person. If you don't know what to write, try a phrase such as, “Won't you be my beautiful Valentine?” or “nicole thinks you are as good as katy perry!”
- You may wish to add other decorations, such as rabbits or other paper shapes. Now you have the perfect weird valentine to give to someone special!
- Be careful when using your scissors, and remember to clean up the area where you have been seeing.

Weekend Post-I went to Washington.
This week, on Tuesday I went to Washington. But what I don't really like is I only had one day, which is really not enough to travel and enjoy.
I got up at about 6, which was like when i go to school; we got on the bus at about 8:30, and it spent more than 4 hours to reach Washington. When we reached, we had to be really rapid, because we only have like two hours to travel. We got on a ship, which was used to see the landscapes, and then we went to the Jefferson memorial for like one and a half hour. Then we went back to NY.
It was seriously not enough to travel Washington if there's only one day; I think I will go back there next time, and stay there for several days.

weekend post-Geometry
geometry is a study in math that deals with shapes. most likely circles and triangles.
the formula that is used the most in geomrtry was the sohcahtoa formula. It's used to find the sides or angles of a triangle. s=sine, c=cosine, t=tangent.o stnds for opposite, a stands for adjacent, h stands for hypotneuse.
soemthing that is needed to be known in geometry:
-hypotneuse is the longest side of a triangle
-adjacent is the side next o the given angle
-opposite is the opposite side of the given angle
-a triangle can never be bigger than 180 degrees
-a triangle can only have one obtuse angle
-when it's a equaltorial triangle all angles are equal.
after you finished geometry you will go to trigonometry, which is most likely advanced geometry.

The other America
Dr. Martin Luther King was one of the greatest black leader in history. The speech the other America is about the other face of America: So many social problems. The section I choose is about the poorness of America.
In the speech Dr. King talked about the other America. He said America was not unify enough, and liberty was not achieved for everyone in America. Justice is not for all; discrimination still exited. Segregation was not suppose to exist because it was discrimination. Discrimination make the nation not unify enough. The other problem that I am doing was the poorness of America. America seemed like rich, but there are still so many poor people, and their life was very bad. The rich people took away things from poor people and made them even poorer. This kind of life had big effects on children, especially black kids.
The America today still have the same problem, but it's not that serious. Discrimination is still existing. And of course discrimination will have affects on children. The one America is rich and nice...etc., and the other one is poor, full of social problems, and so many poors' rights were taken from rich people. Immigrants now are poor because they needed to pay taxes to the rich people. Segregation of that time period was very popular, and also Indian Americans were not living in cities now because people didn't like them.

Taser
On Feb 2, 2010, in Monessen High School, Pennsylvania, students broke out a fight in a basketball game; When the students stopped to fight the cops still use the taser to stop them.

The fight in the highschool is kind of stupid. What's the most stupid is the cops used taser to calm this down.

I think it's stupid because I don't know how can a fight broke out in a basketball game, like when everyone was high and somebody destroy the game mood.

Weekend post-Popular culture
There are several cultures in this world. And the culture I wanna talk about this time is my culture-Chinese.
There are so many languagve in China, except for Mandarin and Cantonese. Those are only the two most popular language. There are so many native languages in China, that we don't even know how many are there. Also the language we read are divided into simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. Most of the places in China uses Simplified Chinese, except fro Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. In Macau and Hong Kong they speak Cantonese and read Traditional Chinese, but in Taiwan they speak Mandarin and read simplified Chinese. In mainland China they read simplified Chinese and speak Mandarin.
The traditional religion in China was Buddhist. Buddhist was found in India, and later their culture ran into China and China was deeply impacted by this religion.
The foods they eat was not what we really see now in America and other places. There are more than 50 groups of Chinese people in China, and each group had different culture, thus different foods. So we don't even know how many kinds of Chinese foods are there.
Chhina became a communism country in 1949, and it is still a communism country right now. It has two special administrative region, which is Hong Kong and Macau. They were colonies of British and Portuguese before, Hong Kong handover to China on July 1, 1997; and Macau handover to China on December 20, 1999.

News and Media
As I said before, News and media is a important element in our life because we need to get information from it. This time I will talk more about my goal-to be a journalists.
I don't know if I am gonna be a reporter which write on the news papers, or those that are talking on tv; but I wanna do journalistic because I can be able to get information in a easier way.
Also journalist have to be able to classify and figure out things very carefully and and clearly. That's a good thing because there are so many things in life that we better be clear on, so these kind of ability was useful no matter when.

weekend
this weekend I went to Chinatown because i wanna but something. But later I went to broadway and I bought a pair of new sneakers, That's a pair of converse. I really like that color, which was a bright blue, and that looks madddd nice.
Actually for the whole vacation I am doing homework and homework. I don't know why teachers like to give homework too much. I don't mean to have no homework, but what they gave are just too much. We need our private time and we cannot do homework without any rest.
I wanna post a news about tiger woods.
.............................
There is no way of knowing how much of this was real and honest from Tiger Woods because there never is with celebrities in trouble, who will say anything, tell any lie, to get themselves out of trouble.
You don't automatically believe Woods just because he says he's sorry. John Edwards probably is too.
There was no way of knowing which words came from Woods, which came from his handlers, which from his therapists. No way of knowing how much he is looking to save himself and his marriage and how much he is looking to save his good name and his brand.
Woods came across Friday as a man who really had just come from 45 days of therapy and was on his way right back. Whether this was his intent or not, Woods came across clearly as a troubled man, one with profound problems - and perhaps addictions - beyond all the women in his life.
Mostly, Tiger Woods sounded, and looked, like a man desperate not to be the world's punch-line any longer, no matter how much he wanted this to be about truth and beauty and values and decency and even Buddhism. At least with that, he was completely honest and sincere. Unless he was lying to himself and the world Friday, even he can't like the slob he became.
Of course this was a day when he should have held a sign offering cash prizes if we'd just like him again, if we'd just buy everything he was selling.
Early on, though, he told an ugly truth about himself and all other celebrities who only act remorseful about being slobs once they get busted. In that moment, Woods sounded the way you want them all to sound, from Spitzer to Edwards to Clemens and A-Rod and McGwire.
"I convinced myself that normal rules didn't apply," Woods said. "I never thought who I was hurting. Instead I thought only about myself. I ran straight through boundaries that married couples live by. I thought I could get away with whatever I wanted to. I felt that I had worked hard my entire life and deserved to simply enjoy all the temptations around me. I felt I was entitled. Thanks to money and fame, I didn't have to go far to find them."
That was the best of it from Woods, wherever it came from, on this day when he began to fight, in the most public way in sports history, to get his good name back.
It was better than all the apologies, better than all this staged theatrics, right until the hug-fest at the very end. It was even better than his emotional defense of his wife, Elin, as he challenged the suggestion that she had attacked him on Thanksgiving night when she found out about the first of the women in the conga line.

WASHINGTON - Four allied troops were killed Thursday in the U.S.-led assault on Marja and a NATO general warned of a tough fight ahead to gain full control of the Taliban stronghold in southern Afghanistan.
A Pentagon spokesman said the U.S. was "pleased with the rate of progress" in Marja, but British Maj. Gen. Nick Carter said, "I would be very cautious about any triumphalism just yet."
Two British troops were killed and two other allied troops whose nationalities were not immediately disclosed also died in the deadliest day for the allies in the six-day Marja offensive.
In Pakistan, two more Taliban commanders were arrested in Karachi as Pakistani and U.S. officials in Islamabad hailed the capture earlier this month of Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Taliban's No. 2 guy.
"It's a tremendous event," visiting U.S. envoy Richard Holbrooke said of the Baradar arrest. "It's a real achievement for Pakistani intelligence with American collaboration."

Teen Issues.
So many older people said that the teens of now are trouble makers. Although we knew it's not that true, but it's partly true.

the news above was about a fight in a hs. the students were fighting in a basketball court, and the fighting was going bigger and bigger after a while. finally the police came. the problem is the cops use a taser to calm it down, so everybody said they are too nervous, that the taser is not needed.

sometimes i think the adults are too serious when we do something wrong; that's not only our problem. in this case, the cops' power were over-used, that although it's not right to fight, it's not right to use a taser in this kind of situation neither. So the best solution is we do what we suppose to do, and adults relax their nerves.

Martin Luther King Speech
Martin Luther King was one of the most famous person who gained rights for African Americans.
He made speech to express his believes, that blacks and all other people were equal. They supposed to have rights, and live as good as other people.
He was so important on the American civil-rights movement. He affected not just America, but all around the world.
Montgomery Bus Boycott was one of the famous event of Martin Luther King. A fifteen-year-old school girl, Claudette Colvin, refused to give up her bus seat to a white man in compliance with the Jim Crow laws. In 1955, Rosa Parks was refused to give her seat, and was arrested. This event lasted for 385 days, thst all the African Americans were not taking any buses. Finally on 1956, the Jim Crow Law was declared to be illegal.
On 1968, he was assassinated, and he was only 39. Martin Luther King Day was made to tribute and honor him. He was the only person that was not American president but had this honor.
